The mysterious 'Mr. Feldman'

Former Maple Leafs enforcer Tie Domi is living in a Yorkville luxury suite where he lives under the ghost name of "Feldman," his estranged wife alleges in a new affidavit filed in their bitter divorce proceedings.

Leanne Domi's allegations are an attempt to counter Tie's claims of poverty in the face of what he says is her spiralling spending since the couple split up in September.

The couple and their lawyers were in mediation yesterday and neither side would comment to the media. It's believed the Domis will be back in court next week.

Leanne filed a report from a private investigator she hired to shadow Tie to confirm that he was living in the Minto Suites and not in a modest one-bedroom at 99 Avenue Rd. as he stated in an affidavit filed with the court.

'OWEN'S PLACE'

"Tie had indeed told me and the children that he was staying at his friend "Owen's" place -- a one-bedroom apartment -- that could not possibly accommodate the children," stated Leanne.

None of the allegations in her affidavit have been tested in court.

Leanne discovered through title searches that 99 Avenue Rd. was a luxury building, where "Owen" bought a $1.3 million apartment in 2004. The suite has three bedrooms and the listing showed it was three units converted into one, she states.

The private investigator's report includes shots of the burly Tie kissing a woman on the cheek.

"I believe that Tie Domi may have stayed at Owen's ... ($1.3-million) apartment, but I'm sure that when Tie Domi swore his affidavit on Jan. 23, 2007, he was NOT living at 99 Avenue Rd., but rather in the Minto Suites in Yorkville where he lives under a ghost, name of Feldman."

When married, he would always use different names when registering in a hotel, Leanne wrote in her affidavit.

"As the above (PI) report indicates, I do no(t) trust what Tie Domi is saying about where he lives, about how he is spending his money and about anything else he says in this litigation.

"In saying what he did in his affidavit about where he lives, he has made it clear that he has no respect for the oath or for the importance of telling the truth to a court of law."

PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR

Leanne stated three different people informed her that Domi was living in Minto Suites and had seen the former Leaf "using his keys and security code going in and out on a daily basis."

The private investigators from Intrepid Investigations Inc. tailed Tie starting last Friday and concluded Monday.

In her affidavit, Leanne also defended herself against Tie's charges that her lavish spending was bankrupting him.

"My cash purchases and the cash advances taken have been reviewed in detail -- almost every day -- by Mr. Allen Fleishman (Tie's business manager). I have spent dramatically less on clothing for myself. It's true, however, that I have refused to deny our three children the clothing, shoes and winter wardrobes they wanted," she stated.
