'It is not an easy time'

Leanne Domi was taking a timeout yesterday after dropping the gloves in her divorce punch-up with former Leafs tough-guy Tie.

At the family's gated mansion near York Mills Rd. and Bayview Ave., the petite blond said she was coping well after filing divorce papers against the pugilistic papa.

"It is not an easy time for our family right now. We are coping as best as you can," Leanne, 40, said.

The wife of the hockey enforcer-turned-hockey broadcast analyst spoke briefly after she parked her GMC Denali SUV with black tinted windows beside the perfectly manicured lawns and hedges of the mansion.

POLITELY DECLINED

Two of her three children, still wearing their school uniforms, emerged from the SUV kicking a soccer ball around before standing in the front archway of the family's home.

After speaking with her daughter, Leanne came to the security gate to speak for a few brief moments.

She politely declined to discuss the divorce application or the allegations about the relationship between Belinda Stronach and Tie Domi.

NO WEDDING BAND

"I can't make any comments because it is before the courts," Leanne said.

Smiling, she raised her left hand, which did not have a wedding band, to take off designer sunglasses, exposing her tired-looking eyes.

She said the Domi children, Max, Carlin and Avery, "are very much aware of the situation that their parents are getting divorced.

"I hope you never have to go through that," she said, as the family's three dogs, a 14-year-old cocker spaniel and two Bichon Frise-poodle mixes, barked and yipped behind the sliding security gate.

"The older one thinks he's a German shepherd. The (other) little one is my best companion right now," Leanne said.
