WINNIPEG - Nikolaj Ehlers gave a packed house at MTS Iceplex a little glimpse of what he brings to the table as the Winnipeg Jets’ development camp got underway on Monday afternoon.

Ehlers, chosen ninth overall in the 2014 NHL Draft, battled through jet-lag from his flight from Denmark and was able to showcase his speed and hands to some degree along with nearly 40 Jets’ draft picks and several other invitees.

“Obviously, it was nice to finally get on the ice here and get over here,” said Ehlers. “I’m still a little bit jet-lagged but I felt good on the ice. I’m just going to enjoy this week and see what happens.

“I don’t think that I have to impress anyone. I’m going to go out and play my game. That’s what I did all year and that’s why I’m here now. I’m just going to keep on doing that and work hard every single day.”

Seeing a full building for the opening session of the five-day camp certainly caught Ehlers’ attention.
