SAN JOSE, CALIF. - The return of Ondrej Pavelec will have to wait until at least Saturday.

The Jets No. 1 netminder was back on the practice ice Wednesday in northern California for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury on March 14, but head coach Paul Maurice said he’s not going to rush him back into action on Thursday night at SAP Center against the San Jose Sharks.

“That was his first full practice, and we want to see how he feels,” Maurice said. “We’ll see how he comes through the morning skate (Thursday). I don’t have him playing here. He’s been out 11 days. Get through this, do the same thing (Thursday), and then we’ll start talking about L.A.”

Pavelec felt good after the hour-long workout, during which he seemed to show no ill effects of whatever was affecting him.

“I’m feeling good,” Pavelec said. “It was a good practice. We had a good practice as a team, and we tried to get ready for (Thursday).”
