Paul Postma has never been happier riding a bus in the minors.

Although he hoped he'd seen the last of the American Hockey League after signing a two-year, one-way deal with the Winnipeg Jets last summer, a unique set of circumstances landed Postma back with the St. John's IceCaps during a conditioning stint that officially came to an end on Friday.

Postma hadn't played since Oct. 26, when doctors found a blood clot in his calf that required several months on blood thinners and limited physical activity.

But after a long road to recovery, Postma spent four games with the IceCaps and is ready to resume his NHL career -- though he'll have to wait until after the Olympic break to do so since he will be a healthy scratch on Saturday against the St. Louis Blues.
