Claude Noel was in a surprisingly positive mood after Thursday morning’s practice at MTS Centre, which no doubt was his way of trying to stave off all the negativity that has enveloped his team.

The Jets have lost four in a row, they were booed off the ice following Tuesday’s 4-2 setback against the Tampa Bay Lightning, they’re in the basement of the Central Division, they’re eight points out of a playoff spot, and plenty of fans are calling for Noel to hit the road.

Other than that, how’s your January going, Mr. Noel?

“We hear their voices, and I can tell you to a man, with the players and the staff, we’re all feeling about the same,” Noel said of the upset fan base. “We’re trying to find solutions to get this thing back on the right track. So we feel their pain.

“We’re hoping they still support us for the next game, and we expect to be a lot better in the next game.”
