WINNIPEG - Ondrej Pavelec won't get a chance to redeem himself when the Winnipeg Jets visit the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow night.

Pavelec, last seen smashing his stick to smithereens in the tunnel leading to the Jets dressing room on Friday night, will serve as the backup to Al Montoya when Winnipeg battles Colorado at Pepsi Center.

"Montoya will play in Colorado, and we'll give (Pavelec) an opportunity to practise and get some rhythm down," Jets head coach Claude Noel said after today's practice at MTS Centre. "That's just the way we'll go. It's no knock against Pavs. He's our go-to goalie. These things happen. Players go through these things. We'll look to repair and help him.

"We have to be better in front of him. That would be the first thing to help him. But we'll get him some practice time and get him going from there."
