WINNIPEG - If members of the Winnipeg Jets got what they wanted from Santa, there would have been guarantees of a .674 points percentage over the final 43 games of the season in their stockings.

That's basically the rate at which the Jets need to collect points for the rest of the season if they don't want to wrap up a third consecutive campaign out of the playoff picture since moving from Atlanta.

Monday night's 6-2 drubbing at the hands of the lowly Edmonton Oilers left the Jets with a 16-18-5 record and well out of the playoff picture in the Central Division. They are eight points out of a post-season spot, and the eighth place Phoenix Coyotes have three games in hand.
