What’s that, hockey fans, you’re getting a little antsy about the performance of your Jets?

Figure that by now you should be seeing a little more oomph out of a roster that’s not far from the NHL salary cap?

Tsk, tsk — that’s nonsense.

When the NHL came back three years ago, that’s all that came back. An NHL team. Sort of.

Nobody said you were getting anything even resembling a playoff contender when the Atlanta Thrashers relocated.

This was a roster completely mangled by previous mismanagement, remember?

The folks running the team down there didn’t know a power play from poke salad. They didn’t have the first clue how to draft, coach or develop players.

Jets management has been far too busy changing the culture to begin the process of winning.

I’m not sure how big a job that is, changing the culture. But it sounds enormous.

I’m pretty sure it includes moving out those who don’t buy in to the way you want to do things.
