NEW YORK - Olli Jokinen scored twice in the third period to propel the Winnipeg Jets to a 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.

Jokinen produced his fifth and sixth goals of the campaign to snap a 2-2 deadlock and allow the Jets to improve to 13-12-4.

The Jets continue a season-long six-game road trip on Thursday against the Florida Panthers.

The Rangers took advantage of a tough shift for the Jets’ fourth line and a giveaway by defenceman Keaton Ellerby, as Mats Zuccarello tipped home a point shot by Ryan McDonagh.

But Devin Setoguchi scored his seventh goal of the season at 8:16 of the second period, slipping away from Rangers defenceman Michael Del Zotto to bury a quick shot past Cam Talbot, who made his second consecutive start in place of Henrik Lundqvist.

Jets centre John Albert made sure his NHL debut was a memorable one.
