WINNIPEG - The long wait is nearly over for Zach Redmond.

The 25-year-old blue-liner is set to make his season debut for the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday as he replaces Zach Bogosian against the Minnesota Wild.

Redmond’s couragous comeback from a serious skate-cut injury has been well-documented but Sunday will mark his first NHL game since teammate Antti Miettinen accidentally stepped on his left leg last February.

“It is just going to be fun to play,” said Redmond, who had a goal and four points in eight NHL games with the Jets last season before suffering the injury. “Wherever they need me, I will be ready.”
