WINNIPEG - It’s a good thing Adam Pardy has a sense of humour, otherwise things might have turned ugly.

The Winnipeg Jets defenceman could only laugh when asked to recount the incident that occurred with 6:22 left in the third period in Wednesday’s game that saw him checked through the glass by Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Bollig, then had his helmet ripped off his head by a fan before an adult beverage was poured onto him.

“Two big, solid boys coming together I guess and the glass came out,’” Pardy said following the 4-1 loss. “It’s one of those situations where you don’t want to see anybody get hurt.

“Then I got a beer dumped all over my head. Over the side of my face and on my jersey. I don’t know if you can smell it on my clothes but the bench could definitely smell a little booze there for the last six minutes.”

The seemingly intoxicated fan yanked Pardy’s helmet off his head and put it on his own before he was escorted out by security.
