CHICAGO - This was the type of effort the Winnipeg Jets have spoken so frequently about, yet produced only handful of times.

Everything from the intensity, the physical play, the sound management and dogged pursuit of the puck, crashing the net and peppering the opposition goalie with shots, all the way down to paying close attention to detail in all three zones.

Almost every single player was contributing in some way or another.

Add it all up and the Jets came up with one of their impressive efforts in recent memory and came away with a 4-2 win over a Detroit Red Wings club that had otherwise steamrolled the competition during a swing through Western Canada.

“The big thing is not getting too high after a win like that,” said Jets winger Matt Halischuk, who scored the game-winner on Monday. “We’ve got to make sure we reset, refocus and focus on why we played well and what we did to get the win. Try to bottle those things.”
