WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets breathed a sigh of relief Thursday as it was revealed left-winger Evander Kane's right-leg injury isn't serious.

Of course, the "tweak" to Kane's knee at practice Wednesday simply provided a diversion from the real problems the Jets face early in this NHL season.

Kane is expected to be OK and could even be in the lineup Friday night when the 3-4 Jets face the division-rival St. Louis Blues at MTS Centre.

The Blues are one of the league's elite teams and not one that will be easily beaten, especially by a Jets team that has struggled to start games with intensity and has been badly outmatched in puck battles while losing four of the last five games.
