WINNIPEG - Nobody knows for sure where the inspiration came from, but the Winnipeg Jets looked like a far hungrier team on Sunday night.

Whether it was the persistence of the penalty killers that had another perfect night, the steady goaltending of backup Al Montoya, the beyond-his-years maturity of rookie defenceman Jacob Trouba or the dogged determination of winger Evander Kane, the Jets brought more of a refuse to lose attitude to the arena and were rewarded with a 3-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils before an appreciative crowd of 15,004 at MTS Centre to snap a three-game losing skid and improve to 3-3.
