WINNIPEG - Ondrej Pavelec isn't ready for his season to end.

Despite starting 43 of the 48 games during the lockout-shortened season, the Winnipeg Jets goalie is feeling fresh and ready to answer the call to play for the Czech Republic at the upcoming 2013 World Men's Hockey Championship in Sweden and Finland.

"I don't feel like it's over, I just want to keep playing," said Pavelec. "It's going to be exciting. I always love to play for my country. This is the last national team action before the Olympics."

There will be plenty of players looking to leave an impression leading into the event scheduled for Sochi, Russia next winter.

Jets captain Andrew Ladd is hoping to play for Team Canada in a third consecutive world championship, but left-winger Evander Kane won't be joining him because of injuries to his wrist and foot.
