WINNIPEG - Winnipeg’s next chance of winning anything will be on Monday night, when the NHL holds its annual draft lottery.

For the first time, every team that misses the playoffs will have a chance at the first overall pick, but your odds decrease greatly the closer you came to making the playoffs.

The Jets have a chance to be Team 11 in the lottery, which would give them only a 1.5% chance of getting the first overall pick. The last-place team, which looks like will be the Florida Panthers, will have a 25% chance of winning the lottery.

In past years, teams were able to move up no more than four slots in the draft lottery, but this year every team that doesn’t win the No. 1 selection will be slotted in descending order of their overall finish.

So if the Jets don’t win the lottery, that means they will have between the 11th and 14th overall pick.
