WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets aren’t sure when — or if — Toby Enstrom will return to action this season.

Enstrom, who suffered a suspected back injury after getting hit by Buffalo Sabres forward Steve Ott on Apr. 9, has been downgraded from day-to-day to week-to-week.

Jets head coach Claude Noel delivered the news on Sunday afternoon after putting the team through a 65-minute skate before roughly 3,000 fans who got a glimpse at the workout for being on the season-ticket waiting list.

“It’s longer than we anticipated, he’s still sore,” said Noel, who continues to play coy about the exact nature of the injury. “It’s somewhere in that mid (body) section.”

With only six games left in the regular season, Enstrom’s absence leaves some important minutes to fill, but Noel isn’t going to allow the injury to be an excuse for his group as they continue their playoff push.
