Is the Winnipeg Jets' glass half-full or half-empty?
By KIRK PENTON, QMI Agency
The hard part of the schedule is over, and the Jets are two points out of a playoff spot.
If you’re an optimist, you will point out that the Jets just got done playing 15 of their first 25 games on the road and are in striking distance of just their second post-season berth. Even better, they are finding ways to win even when they don’t play their best.
If you’re a pessimist, you will moan about how the Jets looked like they couldn’t have cared less in the first period of their 3-2 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils on Sunday night and probably could’ve earned an outright victory with a 60-minute effort. The inconsistency is driving you up the wall.
If nothing else, it looks like the Jets will keep their fan base entertained one way or another down the stretch. Then again, they play 14 of their final 23 games at MTS Centre, where they are playing worse than they are on the road, so it’s not like the future looks overly bright.
