No joy in Jetland
Losses, negativity taking toll on team and fans

The time has come for these Winnipeg Jets to stand up and be counted.

This team currently finds itself in a funk, losers of three in a row and seven of their past 10 games, leaving them perilously close to the basement in the NHL.

The Jets already occupy 30th spot in the penalty killing rankings and they’d prefer to avoid the same distinction in the standings.

Understandably, there has been little joy in Jetland for head coach Claude Noel’s crew recently.

“It’s never enjoyable when you lose,” said Noel. “It’s just something that comes with the life we’re in. There’s not much you can do. You’ve just got to try and control your situation. Our situation is to try to get the morale up.”

Despite raising the effort level during the past two games against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins, the Jets have come away empty-handed where it matters most.
