Jets keep missing target

WINNIPEG - The Jets are becoming very good at not hitting the net, but Alex Burmistrov took it to a whole new level during Friday’s 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh.

The talented young Russian dispy-doodled his way past Kris Letang on the right side and broke in all alone on Penguins netminder Marc-Andre Fleury. Everything was going great — until he shot the puck. Burmistrov not only missed the net; his shot from in close actually went over the glass and into the protective netting.

Going into Saturday night’s action, only the Ottawa Senators had missed the net more than the Jets this season. You don’t win if you don’t score, and you don’t score if you don’t hit the net. The Jets are not hitting the net, so they’re not scoring and they’re not winning.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
