The Winnipeg Jets proved to be the perfect elixir for a struggling road team.
This was no cellar-dwellar and the Philadelphia Flyers showcased plenty of desperation while playing on consecutive nights after getting blown out 5-2 by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday in The Big Smoke.
Although they said all the right things about being ready to face a team with the mentality of a wounded animal, the Jets showed flashes and came in waves, but ultimately ran into a hot goalie and didn’t do enough of the necessary things to pull out a victory.
When the final buzzer sounded, the Jets were staring up at a 3-2 defeat, leaving them with a record of 5-6-1 as they hit the quarter-pole of the 48-game NHL season.
