Dustin Byfuglien expects to be back in the Winnipeg Jets lineup on Tuesday night when they kick off a three-game home stand against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Jets defenceman practised this morning for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury before the morning skate on Jan. 31 in Sunrise, Fla. He missed the last five games, during which Winnipeg posted a record of 2-3-0. The Jets are 5-5-1 overall.

Byfuglien skated the last few days and took part in this morning’s optional practice at MTS Centre. He said it looks good for Tuesday.

“As of right now I think so,” Byfuglien said. “Yeah, it’s good to go.”

Byfuglien wouldn’t go into detail about what exactly happened before the morning skate 11 days ago.

“Some wax buildup in my ear,” he cracked, “so I had to get rid of it.”

It was actually a lower-body injury that had nothing to do with the knee problems that dogged him for much of last season.
