WINNIPEG - Olli Jokinen thinks he may have stumbled upon the solution to the Winnipeg Jets' penalty killing problem.

Believe it or not, he picked it up while watching Sunday’s Super Bowl.

“If we get a penalty, maybe somebody’s going to shut the power off in our building, too,” Jokinen said, Monday.

That’s actually not a bad idea. Things certainly couldn’t get any worse.

Fumbling around in the dark is basically what the Jets have been doing when a man short. Or two.

When your penalty killing success rate resembles that of a quarterback’s completion percentage, just under 60 per cent, you’ve got issues.

“The only one, no,” defenceman Mark Stuart said of the PK problem. “But it’s the big one.”

Right up there with the bad penalties.

So what horrible concoction have the Jets gulped down to trigger this Jekyll-and-Hyde-like transformation?
