Winnipeg Jets need a boost after disastrous road trip
Team heads home looking for answers

TAMPA - The Winnipeg Jets road trip was full of troubling numbers.

A popular digit of discussion was the wind chill back home in Manitoba, a number so low it was always greeted by blank stares from Floridians who simply couldn’t comprehend it.

Speaking of incomprehensible figures, how does 52.9 grab you — as in the percentage of power plays the Jets killed off during their four-day journey to the home rinks of Montreal, Florida and Tampa? The Jets, who flew home Saturday with a 3-4-1 record overall, allowed a whopping eight goals on 17 power-play opportunities against, and three of them were in 5-on-3 situations.

Winnipeg hasn’t been that horrendous at killing penalties since it surrendered six over a two-game span in November 2011. It has also been that long since it gave its opponents 12 power-play chances over two games.

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
