Jets out to prove pundits wrong
By KIRK PENTON, QMI Agency

Winnipeg Jets head coach Claude Noel on the ice at the MTS Centre during team practice in Winnipeg, Monday, January 14, 2013.

WINNIPEG - Not many are giving the Winnipeg Jets much of a chance this season.

Prognosticators from points all over North America are saying the Jets will be lucky if they don’t finish in the basement of the Eastern Conference. Basically, thank goodness for the New York Islanders.

Sportsnet has them finishing 14th in the conference. Even their own broadcast partner, TSN, predicted them to finish 14th, which would have them missing the playoffs by a mile.

In one breath the Jets say it doesn’t matter, that they don’t pay attention to the so-called experts. In another they say the lack of respect will provide plenty of motivation.

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
