Leaked schedule shows Jets on the road early, often

It looks like the Winnipeg Jets won’t need long to find out if they can be road warriors this season.

Although the official 2013 NHL schedule won’t be released until Saturday, after the NHLPA ratifies the new collective bargaining agreement, a draft copy of the Jets games was leaked on the Twitter account of Winnipegger Carter Chen (@CarChen) on Friday morning.

Three games were missing — likely falling between Apr. 1 and 9 — and plenty of starting times were not included, but it sounds like most of the dates were indeed accurate.

After opening at home on Jan. 19 against the Ottawa Senators, the schedule has the Jets hitting the road for games against the Boston Bruins on Jan. 21 and the Washington Capitals on Jan. 22.

Home games against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Jan. 25 and New York Islanders on Jan. 27 will give the Jets six road games in their first nine contests.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
