KHL was too slow for Jets' Evander Kane
Didn't produce while playing in Belarus because game too different, winger saysBy KEN WIEBE, QMI Agency
WINNIPEG - Evander Kane is holding out hope there will still be an NHL season to play. Despite the fact the NHL lockout is approaching 100 days and with no meetings currently scheduled, the Winnipeg Jets left-winger isn’t scouring the globe, wondering where he might try to find work next if the rest of the season is ultimately cancelled. “I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that point where I have to make another decision, to try somewhere else or stick it out for the year,” Kane said in an interview from Vancouver on Wednesday. “We’ll make that decision when the time comes around.” The 21-year-old Kane was quick to admit his experience in the Kontinental Hockey League with Dynamo Minsk in Belarus didn’t go the way he thought it might, as he was limited to just one goal and 47 penalty minutes in 12 games. |
