Jets' Kane going to Russia
By QMI Agency
WINNIPEG - Evander Kane is taking his hockey stick and heading to Russia. The Winnipeg Jets left winger, who signed a six-year contract extension with the Jets on Sept. 15, has agreed to join Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. The 21-year-old Vancouver native is locked out with the rest of his NHL brethren, and he is the latest to head overseas to keep his game in shape. Kane notched a career-high 30 goals and 27 assists last season in 74 games. Kane will be teammates once again with Tim Stapleton, who played for the Jets last season but signed a contract with Minsk earlier this summer to continue his hockey career. |
