Antropov joins KHL's Barys Astana

WINNIPEG - Forward Nik Antropov is the latest member of the Winnipeg Jets to find work in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Accoding to a story in RIA Novosti, Antropov will arrive in Moscow on Thursday to sign a contract with Barys Astana, a team based in his homeland of Kazakhstan.

Antropov, 32, could make his debut on Saturday against Lev Prague, a team that recently signed Jakub Voracek of the Philadelphia Flyers and Jiri Hudler of the Calgary Flames.

Antropov had 15 goals and 35 points in 69 games with the Jets last season and has 455 points in 783 NHL games.

The Barys Astana roster includes a number of former NHLers, including Winnipeggers Nigel Dawes and Dustin Boyd.

During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Antropov split the season between Ak-Bars Kazan and Lokomotiv Yaroslavl.












Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
