Zach Bogosian won’t play on Monday night against the Buffalo Sabres, and he might miss Winnipeg’s two-game road trip to western Canada on Thursday and Friday.

The Jets defenceman suffered an injury on Thursday night to the same part of the body he had a problem with earlier this season, head coach Claude Noel said Sunday. It’s not an aggravation of the wrist injury that kept him out for seven games last month. Bogosian missed five games with a lower-body injury in mid-January.

Noel started off his press conference by saying Bogosian will miss a week of action, but he later said he hasn’t been ruled out of Thursday’s game in Vancouver or Friday’s contest in Calgary.

Grant Clitsome, who was claimed off waivers from Columbus last week, will likely take Bogosian’s spot in the lineup, Noel said.

The Jets are in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, one point up on the Washington Capitals. The Caps, who have two games in hand, host the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night.

The Sabres, meanwhile, are 6-0-2 in their last eight games and are two points back of the Jets with a game in hand, making Monday’s tilt even more critical for Winnipeg than it already was.
