Chipman thanks 'most passionate fans'

The owner of the Winnipeg Jets says his organization is honoured and humbled at being named QMI Agency’s sports team of the year.
The Jets co-owner, who bought the Atlanta Thrasher and moved the franchise to Winnipeg in May, later rechristening them the Jets, said the province’s response to the NHL’s return to Manitoba has been beyond anyone’s expectations.
"From the response to our season ticket drive, to the fan turnout at any of our team public events, to the regular sightings of Jets clothing at every corner of our city and province, we as an organization could not be more grateful for the warm welcome both the team and True North have received since day one of this incredible process,” said Chipman.
“Our city is home to the most passionate hockey fans in the world, and we are grateful to have the National Hockey League back in a community that is so deserving of hockey's highest level of competition."
