Jets recall Jaffray, Kulda
By Ken Wiebe, QMI Agency

Former Manitoba Moose Jason Jaffray has a chance to make an impression on the Winnipeg Jets' brass this weekend.

WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets have recalled forward Jason Jaffray and defenceman Arturs Kulda from the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

The Jets, who have lost five consecutive games and sit 5-9-3 overall, are struggling to score goals and Jaffray is riding a hot streak after scoring three times on Saturday to give him seven goals and 12 points in 15 AHL games this season.

Kulda has two goals and six points in 13 games with the IceCaps this season.

The Jets also sent defenceman Paul Postma back to St. John’s after he appeared in three NHL games (no points), while announcing that defencema Derek Meech has undergone surgery for a lower-body injury and will be on the shelf another six-to-eight weeks.

The Jets are back in action on Monday against the Tampa Bay Lightning as they open a three-game homestand at the MTS Centre.
