WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Jets will officially be seen on TSN and heard on Sportsradio 1290.

As the Jets finally unveiled their radio broadcast partner and regional TV provider, there were no big surprises during the Wednesday afternoon press conference held at MTS Centre.

Both deals are believed to be for 10 years and all 82 games will be broadcast on radio and TV.

As previously reported, Winnipegosis product Dennis Beyak will handle the play-by-play for all 82 games — providing the TV coverage for regional games and moving into the radio booth for the national TV broadcasts.

Beyak has also done play-by-play for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Edmonton Oilers during a wide-ranging career that includes time as a general manager in the Western Hockey League.

Former NHLers Brian Engblom and Mike Johnson will handle the colour on TV.

Engblom, who was born and raised in Winnipeg, has an extensive broadasting background that includes time as a studio analyst and colour commentator for both ESPN and Versus (now NBC Sports). He also provided some post-game analysis for the Colorado Avalanche.

Johnson, another former NHLer, has been involved with TSN for the past three years.

Brian Munz will handle the radio play-by-play for 56 games, while Neepawa product Shane Hnidy has been hired to provide colour commentary on all 82 games on radio.

Hnidy, who helped the Boston Bruins capture the Stanley Cup last spring, is a veteran of 550 NHL games.

Munz spent the past five seasons as the voice of the Manitoba Moose.
