Baby Jets will be called IceCaps
By QMI Agency

The name of the Winnipeg Jets' primary affiliate in the American Hockey League is officially the St. John's IceCaps.

The AHL team unveiled the name -- which had been widely speculated -- and logo at a press conference in Newfoundland on Friday.

"This name will put us on the map across Canada and the U.S. This name and image will market not just our team, but also our province," IceCaps president and CEO Danny Williams told The Telegram. "I'm confident hockey fans will support it. It represents our rich hockey history with the legendary St. John's Capitals, and it has the natural element that is iconic to our province (with the iceberg)."

The logo consists of ice caps over rugged mountains and the mountains are topped with ice that is actually an illustrative map of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The primary colours are navy blue, baby blue and silver.

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
