Vincent named Jets assistant coach
By KIRK PENTON, QMI Agency

Winnipeg Jets head coach Claude Noel has rounded out his coaching staff with the hiring of assistant Pascal Vincent.

The 39-year-old has been a head coach in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the last 12 seasons with the Montreal Juniors and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. His career QMJHL head coaching record is 429-313-87.

Vincent was also the league’s general manager of the year for Cape Breton during the 2006-07 season. His goaltender was current Jets puck stopper Ondrej Pavelec.

The Laval, Que., native led the Montreal Juniors to the QMJHL’s second-best record last season at 46-12-10.

Noel’s other assistant is former Edmonton Oilers defenceman Charlie Huddy.

The Vancouver Canucks should replace ex-coach Alain Vigneault with...
  Guy Boucher.
  Lindy Ruff.
  Andy Murray.
  Jacques Martin.
  Brent Sutter.
  Don Hay.
  Other.
