Jets logo wait delays hockey cards
By Ross Romaniuk, QMI Agency

The time it’s taking for the Winnipeg Jets to unveil their new uniform logo and colours is throwing a wrench into a major sports card company’s plans to issue products for the coming NHL season.

The U.S.-based Upper Deck company Tweeted on Wednesday: “The delay in releasing uniforms and having photo shoots for the #Winnipeg #Jets is really hindering our ability to get cards done of them.”

Scott Brown, spokesman for the Jets and ownership group True North Sports and Entertainment, said the franchise is continuing to work with the NHL and other partners to finalize its graphic brand. He suggested the logo could be unveiled in the next couple of weeks.

Brown added that despite the public’s interest in the matter, the team isn’t seeking input on it from outside the organization.

A spokesman for Upper Deck did not return calls for comment.
