The Washington Capitals have signed left wing Chris Bourque to a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bourque, the son of Hall of Fame defenseman Ray Bourque, split time last season in the Swiss-A League and Kontinental Hockey League.

The 25-year-old Boston native has appeared in 13 games for Washington and 20 for Pittsburgh. In the 33 overall NHL contests, he has one goal and three assists.

Bourque also has 105 goals and 197 assists for 302 points in 325 career games in the American Hockey League. He helped Hershey to three Calder Cup titles and was the playoff MVP in 2010.
