ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Washington Capitals have claimed forward Marco Sturm off waivers from the Los Angeles Kings.
Sturm has collected four goals and nine points in 17 games this season. He was sidelined for the first 32 games because of a lower body injury.
The 32-year-old has tallied 238 goals and 475 points over 872 games with the Sharks, Bruins and Kings since breaking into the NHL in the 1997-98 campaign.
He is the all-time league leader in goals, assists, points and games played by a player born and raised in Germany.
