Caps give Neuvirth extension

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Washington Capitals signed goaltender Michal Neuvirth to a two-year contract extension on Wednesday.

Financial terms were not announced, per club policy.

The 22-year-old saw action in 17 games as a rookie in the 2009-10 season and registered a 9-4 record with a 2.75 goals against average and .914 save percentage.

Neuvirth was Washington's second round pick (34th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
