MONTREAL - Alexander Ovechkin had a hearing with NHL vice-president and director of hockey operations Colin Campbell Tuesday and has received a two-game suspension.

The Washington Capitals star received the suspension for a knee-on-knee hit Monday night on Carolina Hurricanes defenceman Tim Gleason.

Ovechkin hurt his knee on the play and left the game but it now appears he will not miss significant time because of the injury.
