David Booth had an unlucky start to Vancouver Canucks training camp.
The forward is expected to be out of the lineup until at least late February with a groin injury. Multiple reports state he suffered the injury during the preseason physical.
"Booth had an MRI done (Monday). He will be out approximately 4-to-6 weeks," said Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault.
Booth was out from early December until mid-January last season after sustaining a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
The 28-year-old also missed more than three months during the 2009-10 season with the Florida Panthers after suffering a concussion resulting from a vicious hit by then-Flyers captain Mike Richards.
