Roberto Luongo's run at the World Series of Poker main event came to a halt Friday but he didn't leave empty-handed.

In his fourth day of play at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the Vancouver Canucks goaltender was eliminated from the no-limit Texas hold 'em tournament in 634th place out of 6,598 entrants, earning $19,227.

Luongo was knocked out after going all-in pre-flop while holding a pair of fours. He was called by Bryan Vanrijsbergen of the Republic of Malta, who had a pair of jacks. The netminder was unable to catch a better hand on the flop, turn and river.

The $10,000 entrance fee required to play in the Main Event was paid for by the B.C. Lottery Corp. on Luongo's behalf. Luongo is a sponsor for the province's PlayNow.com gambling site.
