Thanks to goals by Christian Ehrhoff and Kyle Wellwood in the third period Thursday, the Canucks skated away with a 4-3 win over the Dallas Stars at GM Place.

After Toby Petersen's shorthander gave Dallas the lead in the second, Alex Burrows responded with a shorty of his own with a minute left in the period. The goal, his 13th in the last nine games, extended his point streak to 10 games.

Mason Raymond ended a 10-game goal drought with a beautiful backhander, his 18th of the season, in the first to open the scoring. Wellwood's tally was his first in 10 games.

Meanwhile, Brad Lukowich recorded his first points as a Canuck with an assist on Raymond's goal.

"It's a great feeling especially when you're almost out of the lineup a couple days ago," said Wellwood.

Ex-Canuck Alex Auld, who faced his former team for the first time since his departure in 2006, stopped 19 of 23 shots in a losing effort, dropping his season record to 7-5-3. Roberto Luongo made 20 saves at the other end.

"I thought that when Sami went down after the second period, I thought our best period was the third," said Alain Vigneault. "I thought guys really stepped up back there."

UP NEXT: A new chapter to a growing rivalry will be added Saturday when the Chicago Blackhawks come to town for their second visit of the season.
