Canucks cut Hodgson
Vancouver's top prospect sent to OHL

The Vancouver Canucks' top prospect, Cody Hodgson, has failed to make the big team.

The NHL club announced one roster cut on Tuesday after sending the 19-year-old Canada junior team star back to the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League.

Many pundits had locked Hodgson into the Canucks' roster before the preseason began, but the centre -- coming off a back injury -- failed to impress and was one of the last cuts before the team's season opener against the Calgary Flames Thursday.

On Monday, the team sent eight players, including goalie Cory Schneider and forward Michael Grabner, to the Manitoba Moose, the Canucks' AHL affiliate.

The Canucks have 28 players remaining on their preseason roster.

Do you think Coyotes players should be punished for their actions after the team’s Game 5 loss to the Kings?
