All eyes on Hodgson

Everyone wants to know about Cody Hodgson these days.

With only three games left in the preseason, there's plenty of questions regarding the youngster's near future.

Will he earn a spot with the team? Get sent back to junior? If he stays, what line will he be on? Centre or wing?

Many of these inquiries will most likely be answered during or after his nine-regular-season-game audition, but all this Hodgson hubbub was expected, considering the hype surrounding the kid ever since he was drafted 10th overall in 2008 by the Canucks.

"He knows that he's got a lot of expectations to fulfill but he's still a young guy, still learning, and we're right here trying to help him out," said Alex Burrows, who played on the same line as the 19-year-old prospect last night. "He's doing a good job so far."

Despite the pressure, all Hodgson can do now is focus on what happens on the ice, not what he can't control off the ice.

"I just try to think about creating plays and creating offense and at the same time, not being a defensive liability, so that's basically all I'm thinking about right now," he said.

The Canucks played yesterday at home against San Jose and will host the Anaheim Ducks tonight (7:00 p.m. PT). Both game recaps can be read at www.vancouver.24hrs.ca.
