Victor de Bonis grew up five blocks from the Pacific Coliseum and was a parking lot attendant on Canucks' games nights.
"I never went inside to watch the games, but you could hear the goals being scored - when the fans would be cheering - out there in the parking lot," said Canucks Sports and Entertainment's chief operating officer.
While general manager Mike Gillis assumed president Chris Zimmerman's title, de Bonis took over the ex-Nike executive's responsibilities. He said priorities include finishing pre-Olympic renovations and the deluxe Best Buy Club, along with ticket, sponsorship and suite sales.
De Bonis, 43, joined the company in 1994. He said CSE is pondering a specialty TV application for 2011, but isn't pursuing an NBA franchise.
