Roberto Luongo is one of five goaltenders invited to Hockey Canada's men's Olympic training camp.

The Vancouver Canucks' netminding ace will be joined in Calgary Aug. 24-27 by 2002 gold medalist Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils, Marc-Andre Fleury of the Stanley Cup-champion Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jacket Steve Mason and Carolina Hurricane Cam Ward.

The only other Canuck going to Calgary next month are not players, but equpment manager Pat O'Neill and trainer Mike Burnstein.

Vancouver Giants' graduate Milan Lucic, now a Boston Bruins' star, joins 2002 gold medal-winning goalscorer Joe Sakic of Burnaby and Penguin superstar Sidney Crosby among forwards.

Head coach Mike Babcock and his staff must cut the roster to 23 by year-end for the Feb. 16-28, 2010 Winter Olympics' tournament in Vancouver. It is possible that other players could become roster candidates this fall.

Meanwhile, Canucks' forward Ryan Kesler is among 34 players invited by executive director Brian Burke to the United States' training camp Aug. 17-19 in Woodbridge, Ill.
