FORWARDS

DANIEL SEDIN

Guts: He is now the team's clear-cut MVP. He is closing in on the leagues top 10 in scoring and is poised for a career-goal total. A

Bob: The Canucks' only point-a-gamer. A-

HENRIK SEDIN

Guts: Nice to see Hank shooting the puck more. His production the past month has been outstanding. B+

Bob: No panky from Hanky, just the usual setup for bro Dan. B+

PAVOL DEMITRA

Guts: This guy reminds me of Naslund last year. So much talent but in small doses. C+

Bob: Hope to see more goals in the second half. B

KYLE WELLWOOD

Guts: He has been very quiet for stretches but tough to argue with a 30-goal pace. B

Bob: Gillis' best pick-up. The only Canuck with discipline - his only trips to the sin bin are for too-many-men bench minors. A-

TAYLOR PYATT

Guts: His big body assured him of ice time. His lack of performance may ensure him of a new location. C-

Bob: A broken foot is keeping him off the Sedin line. C

STEVE BERNIER

Guts: No other Canuck has fanned on more perfect set-ups than Bernier. Needs to find a way to finish. C-

Bob: Needs more fire. C+

MASON RAYMOND

Guts: Nothing wrong with this kid's speed. His aim might be the real concern here. C

Bob: Benefitting from pairings with Wellwood. B-

JANNIK HANSEN

Guts: Fourth in the league in rookie assists, but he too has dried up offensively. C

Bob: 'Nik needs more knocks. C+

ALEX BURROWS

Guts: Has fully lost his confidence when it comes to scoring. Even his shootout move has stopped working. C

Bob: I liked it better when he was fighting for ice time. B-

RYAN KESLER

Guts: Had a tough second quarter offensively. Everything else was at an A level. B-

Bob: The Kes dispenses growing leadership. B+

DARCY HORDICHUK

Guts: What you see is what he was brought in to do. Four goals in his last 17 games is a sweet bonus. C+

Bob: The Horde. Needs to curtail his penalty minutes, but love his goal celebrations. C+

SUNDIN FORECAST

Guts: 11 goals and 17 assists, 28 points in 35 games. Would like to see him with Wellwood.

Bob: 11 goals, 18 assists. He'll miss at least five games with injury. It'll be an unremarkable rental-centre experiment, on par with the Mark Messier mess.

DEFENCEMEN

MATTIAS OHLUND

Guts: No wonder teams are interested. He does it all and is made for the playoffs. B+

Bob: Solid blueline leader. B

WILLIE MITCHELL

Guts: What a workhorse he's been all year. Gets the toughest assignments and is still a plus 7. B

Bob: On par for a regular Mitchell season. C+

SAMI SALO

Guts: One more injury after this and management may decide to have him put down. C-

Bob: Sorry Sami, injured again. B-

KEVIN BIEKSA

Guts: Having a career year. He hits, fights and can rack up points. A

Bob: Returning to his old self. B-

ALEX EDLER

Guts: Finally noticing No. 23 since he started rushing the puck. C+

Bob: Honest Ed. C+

SHANE O'BRIEN

Guts: Nice turnaround from his first 20 games. More sure with the puck and leads league in PIM. B

Bob: Costly penalties could cost points. C

BACKUPS

CURTIS SANFORD

Guts: Adequate at best in relief. Rust showed on some nights. C-

Bob: Sandman's inconsistency needs solving. C+

CORY SCHNEIDER

Guts: The speed and pressure of the show proved to be his undoing. D

Bob: The sooner he returns to Winnipeg, the better. C

JASON LABARBERA

Guts: AV finally found a goalie to take the ball and run with it. B

Bob: Backup of the future? B-

MANAGEMENT

ALAIN VIGNEAULT

Bob: Still my candidate for coach of the year if he can guide the Canucks into the playoffs. Injuries are adding up and I don't like the sum. B+

MIKE GILLIS

Bob: He surprised us all and got Mats Sundin and improved goaltending in a pinch with a seventh-round pick trade for Jason "LaBurnaby" LaBarbera. Good work, Gillis. B
