The Vancouver Canucks want to prove Jerry Seinfeld was right.

They're hoping a full house at General Motors Place will indeed be "cheering for laundry" on Aug. 29.

North American professional sports' most notorious chameleons will unveil their new Rbk Edge uniform at 12:30 p.m. and sell them for $149.99 and up at 1 p.m.

Free tickets, available via Ticketmaster.ca, were distributed yesterday.

The Canucks are expected to sport a new colour scheme. Whether Francesco Aquilini's club retires the John McCaw-era Orca logo is another matter.

All NHL teams will be wearing new Reebok-made togs this fall as part of an $11 million deal with the Adidas-owned sportswear and equipment company. The Columbus Blue Jackets, San Jose Sharks and Washington Capitals changed their logos this summer.

Meanwhile, contract talks continue with Trevor Linden, the only player left from Vancouver's yellow, black and red downhill skate era.
